The tostring() function

Converts the value of its single numeric parameter to a string.

Usage

TOSTRING()

Parameters

Parameter Type Description
number (required) int or float The value to be converted to a string.

Returns

The string value of the input parameter.

Remarks

The function uses a 10-base system to represent the numeric arguments, and the . is the only allowed decimal separator character when converting floats.

Use the FORMATNUMBER() function if you need to take more control over the number-to-string conversion.
