dtl.Parse()

Converts a string representation of a datetime value to its dtl equivalent.

Syntax

static dtl dtl.Parse(dtf date-format, string string)

Parameters

Parameter Type Description
date-format (required) dtf The date formatting instructions used for the conversion.
string (required) string The string to be converted into a dtl value.

Returns

A dtl value equivalent to the string parameter, that conforms to the date-format parameter. Returns undefined if the string parameter cannot be parsed using the formatting instructions in the date-format parameter.

trace dtl.Parse((dtf dd"/"MM"/"yyyy), "05/09/1942");
trace dtl.Parse((dtf dd"/"MM"/"yyyy), "2001"); // returns undefined
